How to choose a detailer or valeter in Bradford

Bradford's twenty-eight listed businesses spread across the city centre and out to Eccleshill, Idle & Thackley, Wyke, Queensbury, Shipley, Bingley and Keighley. Coverage is uneven: Bingley has exactly one confirmed business, Queensbury, Idle & Thackley and Wyke each have two, and Ilkley & Menston has none at all - every detailer found marketing into Ilkley turned out to be based well outside the area once checked, so nothing could be published there. Bradford city centre, by contrast, has eight, and Shipley and Keighley five each.

What the credentials found here mean

None of these is a legal requirement to detail a car, but each shows something about the training or track record behind the work.

  • Autoglym-approved: JSL Mobile Valeting, Keighley. Autoglym Vpb Services in Eccleshill trades under the same manufacturer's vehicle-preparation-bay model, mainly used to ready used cars for dealerships.
  • Manufacturer or trade accreditation claimed by the operator: Defined Reflections describes its founder as a former Gtechniq-accredited detailer, featured in Classic Ford magazine.
  • Registered companies: North Detailing (company no. 15635210) and Diamond Shine Yorkshire Ltd both trade as registered limited companies rather than sole traders.
  • Longer trading history: DJB Valeting & Detailing has traded since 2010, and Defined Reflections since 2009.
  • Independently verifiable ratings: none of the twenty-eight businesses in this directory carry a rating from an allowed independent source (Google, Trustpilot, Fresha, Booksy or Yelp) with enough reviews to show. Some directories quote star ratings for a handful of these businesses, but not from a source this directory can verify and link to, so none is shown here - ask to see reviews directly when you call.

Questions worth asking before you book

  • Fixed premises, drop-off unit or mobile - and if mobile, does the detailer bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
  • Is the quote for a wash and protect, or does it include machine paint correction first? At North Detailing, for example, a £95 valet is a different job entirely from a £300 paint correction or a £950 paint protection film install.
  • Two unrelated businesses in this directory both trade as "Prestige Valeting" - one at Deanford Garage in Bradford, one in Gilstead, Bingley - with different addresses and phone numbers. Make sure you have the right one before you call.
  • Many of the listings here - Qs Valeting Centre, Diamond Car Valeting, Premier Car Wash, Dream Clean, Cleancare, Autoglym Vpb Services, Markless Valeting, 2 U Valets, Extreme Valeting and Kleen Wheelz Valeting among them - rest on a single directory entry rather than the business's own website. Ring first to check the business is still trading and current before assuming the listing is accurate.
  • If you're in Queensbury, Idle & Thackley, Wyke or Bingley, where coverage is thinnest, ask a Bradford or Shipley-based mobile operator directly whether they reach your postcode before booking.
