Questions worth asking before you book

• Fixed premises or mobile - and if mobile, do they bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
• Is the quote for a wash and protect, or does it include machine paint correction first? Correction takes longer and costs more, and a coating over unclipped swirls will not look any better than the paint underneath.
• For a hand car wash bay: is it walk-in, or do you need to book ahead?
• Which ceramic coating or film brand, and what is the manufacturer's warranty period?
• If a studio's marketing address and its Companies House registered address differ - as with AG Detail and Becton Detailing Studio, both of which show two addresses in the same part of the district - ring first to check where to actually take the car.
