How to choose a detailer or valeter in Eastbourne
Studio, mobile, or fixed unit
Eastbourne's twenty listed detailers and valeters are spread across the town centre, Langney, Hailsham, Hampden Park, Polegate and Seaford. Coverage is uneven: Polegate and Seaford each have exactly one confirmed business, and Pevensey has none at all, so choice there is far more limited than in the town centre, which has eight. Several mobile businesses based in the centre, Langney or Hailsham cover a wide area beyond their own postcode, so it's always worth asking a mobile operator directly whether they reach a thinner area before ruling it out.
- Studios with an appointment-only base tend to focus on correction, coatings and protection alongside routine valeting: DrivenByDetail at North Harbour (studio plus a self-sufficient mobile van), and Detailed Ltd in Langney, a registered company covering the whole BN20-BN27 range by appointment.
- Fixed units and premises take walk-in or booked visits without necessarily offering a mobile round: Carshine Valeting on Courtlands Road (trading since 1981), Coastal Car Care on Upperton Lane, Drop Dead Details and The Features Club in Langney, Eastbourne Car Valeting in Polegate, Aysar Car Care on Hailsham High Street, Valeting Club in Seaford, and Touch Of Gloss Detailing in Hailsham.
- Mobile detailers and valeters come to your home or workplace: Goodwin Car Detailing (Hailsham-based, covering Eastbourne, Brighton and Hastings), MCWS in Hampden Park, CPC Detailing, Car Valeting Eastbourne, Jetz Detailing, BJM Valeting, TJ AutoDetailing and Wishy Washy Mobile Car Wash, all based in or around the town centre, plus SJW Exclusive Car Care off Decoy Drive.
What the trading history found here means
None of these is a guarantee of quality, but each gives some sense of how established a business is. Carshine Valeting has traded since 1981, making it the longest-running name found in this research. Touch Of Gloss Detailing has traded from Hailsham since 2009, and Detailed Ltd, a registered limited company, since 2011. MCWS has traded since 2005 and is run by someone with more than 35 years in the motor trade, and is a member of a professional valeters' and detailers' trade association. No independently verifiable rating from an allowed source, Google, Trustpilot, Fresha, Booksy or Yelp, could be confirmed for any Eastbourne-area business in this round of research, so none is shown; ask to see reviews directly if that matters to you when you call.
Questions worth asking before you book
- Fixed premises or mobile, and if mobile, does the detailer bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
- Is the quote for a wash and protect, or does it include machine paint correction first? Correction takes longer and costs more than a routine valet.
- Several listings here rest on directory entries rather than the business's own website, including Bertie's Detailing and Valeting, Wishy Washy Mobile Car Wash, TJ AutoDetailing and BJM Valeting, whose own site domain failed to resolve. Ring first to check the business is still trading before assuming the listing is current.
- SJW Exclusive Car Care's address is given slightly differently by two directory sources; confirm exactly where to go before you visit.
- If you're in Polegate, Seaford or Pevensey, ask a town-centre, Langney or Hailsham-based mobile operator directly whether they cover your postcode before booking.
