How to choose a detailer or valeter in Enfield and north London

Studio, mobile, hand car wash - or a specialist

Enfield and north London's 34 businesses spread unevenly across the eight areas covered here: Enfield itself has 8, Southgate and Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill and Cockfosters, Barnet and Whetstone, and Potters Bar and Cheshunt each have 5, Finchley and Friern Barnet has 3, and two areas are genuinely thin. Edmonton has only 2 confirmed businesses - the car-wash and valeting trade there turned out to be mostly forecourt concessions and shopping-centre wash pitches, which are not listed here, leaving a real gap rather than a research oversight. Wood Green and Tottenham is thinner still, with only 1: two other detailing businesses found in the area could not be reached by phone, so only Wood Green Car Wash on Hardy Passage is published for it. If you're in either area, it's worth asking a business based in a neighbouring area whether it travels to you.

What the credentials found here mean

None of these is a legal requirement to detail or valet a car, but each says something about training, products or track record.

  • XPEL-accredited PPF installer: Platinum PPF, founded 2021.
  • Autofinesse-accredited products: Ultimate Valet Services, trading since early 2020.
  • Longer trading history: Lellers Car Valeting since 2006, OCD Pro Detail since 2017, and Bourne Hill Car Wash advertising over 20 years without a specific founding date.
  • Independently verifiable rating: only one business in this entire directory carries one - Lellers Car Valeting, at 4.7 out of 5 from 34 reviews on Trustpilot, linked to the review page and checked in September 2026. The Detailing Authority's own site claims over 100 five-star Google reviews, but the underlying listing could not be confirmed independently this session, so no rating is shown for it here.

Questions worth asking before you book

  • Fixed unit or mobile - and if mobile, does the detailer bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
  • Is the quote for a wash and protect, or does it include machine paint correction first? A ceramic coating over uncorrected swirls will not look any better than the paint underneath it.
  • For a specialist like R B Car Carpet Cleaning, confirm exactly what's covered - interior carpet and upholstery only, or exterior work too - before assuming it's a full valet.
  • Many of the smaller listings here - Lux & Glow, Carwash Co, Valet Perfect, Diamond Car Valeting, Aqua Valet, Get Valeted and several others among the thirty without a website - are confirmed only through a phone number, address and an online listing rather than the business's own pages. Ring first to check the business is still trading at that address before assuming the listing is current.
  • If you're in Edmonton or Wood Green and Tottenham, ask a mobile operator based in a neighbouring area directly whether they cover your postcode before booking.
