How to choose a detailer or valeter in Glasgow
Studio, mobile, or hand car wash
This directory covers eight areas around Glasgow: the city centre and Merchant City, the West End and Partick, the Southside and Shawlands, the East End and Dennistoun, Bearsden and Milngavie, Paisley, East Kilbride, and Clydebank. Coverage is uneven. East Kilbride has the most confirmed businesses, nine, followed by Bearsden and Milngavie and Paisley with six each. East End and Dennistoun currently has exactly one confirmed business, Glym Valet Centre, so choice there is genuinely limited; Clydebank has three. Twenty-five of the thirty-eight businesses here are mobile, coming to your driveway or workplace, and thirteen work from a fixed site.
- Fixed studios and workshops take the car off the road and tend to focus on correction, coatings and protection rather than a quick wash: Planet-Wax in Partick, describing itself as the most established valeting and detailing business in the west of Scotland, and ThreeBros Detailing in Scotstoun, whose menu runs to paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film, wraps and window tinting.
- Fixed hand car washes and valet centres suit a regular clean rather than correction work: Undercover Valeting Detailing in Finnieston, Rainbow Soft Cloth Carwash Valet Centre near Partick, Splash Autocare and Sparkle Car Wash Valet Centre in the Southside, Glym Valet Centre in Dennistoun, Abercorn Car Wash Valet Service and Pro Car Wash Valeting in Paisley, Arc Car Wash's Paisley and Clydebank sites (two separate businesses sharing a name), DHMAID Hand Car Wash in Paisley, and Magic Sponge Car Wash Valet Centre in Clydebank.
- Mobile detailers and valeters cover the rest and make up two-thirds of this directory, including Premium Mobile Car Valeting Glasgow, Car Valeting Glasgow (C.V.G) and Glasgow Mobile Car Valeting in the city centre, West End Details and Carbo Car Valet Services in Partick, DriveFresh and Eye4Detail Scotland in Bearsden, and a cluster of nine businesses based in East Kilbride, among them EK Mobile Valeting, A & G Car Valeting, Mic's Mobile Valeting and CM Pristine Detailing.
What the credentials found here mean
None of these is a legal requirement to valet or detail a car, but each shows something about the training or track record behind the work.
- Autoglym Academy trained and registered: Car Valeting Glasgow (C.V.G).
- Longer trading history: Glasgow Mobile Car Valeting has traded since 2001, Car Valeting Glasgow (C.V.G) and Eye4Detail Scotland both for over 25 years, A & G Car Valeting for 21 years, EK Mobile Valeting for 19 years, Mic's Mobile Valeting since January 2010, and CM Pristine Detailing for over 12 years.
- Stated fully insured: EK Mobile Valeting, Mic's Mobile Valeting (for vehicles and public liability) and CM Pristine Detailing.
- Independently verifiable rating: only one business in this directory carries one, EK Mobile Valeting at 4.9 from 42 Google reviews, linked to the original Maps listing and checked in September 2026. None of the other thirty-seven had a rating confirmed on an allowed, independently checked review page, so none is shown for them, whatever a business's own site might claim.
Questions worth asking before you book
- Fixed premises or mobile - and if mobile, does the valeter bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
- Is the quote for a wash and wax, or does it include machine paint correction, ceramic coating or paint protection film first? Correction takes longer and costs more, and a coating over unclipped swirls will not look any better than the paint underneath.
- For a hand car wash or valet centre: is it walk-in, or do you need to book ahead?
- Most listings in this directory - thirty of the thirty-eight - rest on an online listing rather than the business's own website, so treat the details here as a starting point for a phone call. Three of those, Splash Autocare, CE Mobile Valeting Services and DHMAID Hand Car Wash, come from search results alone with no independently checked source at all; confirm the number is current, and what a visit includes and costs, before booking any of these.
- If you're in East End and Dennistoun, currently covered by one confirmed business, or in Clydebank, ask a Glasgow centre or West End-based mobile operator directly whether they cover your postcode before booking.
- Paisley's six confirmed businesses and most of Southside and Shawlands' four are fixed hand car washes and valet centres known only from an online listing, with no independent website found for any of them - ring ahead to check they're still trading at the address given.
