Questions worth asking before you book

• Fixed premises or mobile - and if mobile, does the detailer bring their own water and power, or do they need yours?
• Is the quote for a wash, or does it include machine paint correction or a coating first? Correction takes longer and costs more, and a coating over unclipped swirls will not look any better than the paint underneath.
• For a hand car wash: is it walk-in, or do you need to book ahead, and does it close early on a Sunday or at weekends, as Riverside Vehicle Wash Ltd and Hessle Hand Carwash and Valeting do?
• Several listings here rest on a single directory entry and a Google-sourced phone number rather than the business's own website - ring first to check the business is still trading and current before assuming the listing is accurate.
• If you are in Hull city centre, Anlaby, Cottingham or the Hedon area, ask a west Hull or Sutton-based mobile operator directly whether they cover your postcode before booking, since no business could be confirmed with a base in those areas.
