How to choose a car detailer or valeter in Inverness and the Highlands

A large, sparsely covered area

This directory covers eight areas across Inverness and the wider Highlands: Inverness city centre, Inverness west & Kinmylies, Culloden & Smithton, Nairn, Dingwall & the Black Isle, Alness & Invergordon, Elgin, and Aviemore & Grantown-on-Spey. Twenty-six businesses is a reasonable spread for a corridor this size, but it is genuinely a sparse, rural market rather than a dense city, and coverage is honestly uneven. Questions worth asking before you book

  • Fixed premises or mobile, and if mobile, does the car need to be somewhere with power and water nearby?

  • Is the quote for a wash and protect, or does it include machine paint correction first? A coating over uncorrected swirls will not look any better than the paint underneath.
  • If you're in Dingwall & the Black Isle or Inverness west & Kinmylies, where only one business each is confirmed, ask a detailer based in a neighbouring area whether they cover your postcode before ruling anything out.
