How to choose a detailer or valeter in Margate, Thanet and Swale
Fixed premises, or mobile to your door
Almost every business in this directory is mobile, coming to your home, workplace or driveway rather than running a shop you drive to. The two exceptions are Malcolm Waite Detailing, the vehicle preparation centre of a car dealership on Harnet Street in Sandwich, and MABS Car Valeting & Interior Cleaning, which runs a workshop base on the West Lane Trading Estate in Sittingbourne alongside its own mobile valeting van. If you want the car off the road for a few hours rather than valeted where it's parked, those two are the ones to ask about a drop-off slot; everyone else works from a van or kit bag at an address you choose.
Where coverage is thin
Coverage across the nine areas is uneven. Sandwich and Faversham each have exactly one confirmed business - Malcolm Waite Detailing and Panther Valeting respectively - despite a real search effort on both towns, so there is effectively no choice of a second option there beyond asking a mobile operator based elsewhere in Kent whether they travel that far. Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Birchington & Westgate-on-Sea each have two confirmed businesses, so still limited compared with Margate & Cliftonville's seven and Sittingbourne's ten. If you're in one of the thinner areas, it's worth asking a Margate, Sittingbourne or Ramsgate-based mobile valeter directly whether they cover your postcode before assuming you have no local option.
What's confirmed, and what to ask
Longer trading histories found here include Paul's Mobile Car Valeting, trading in Sittingbourne since 2005 and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses, and Seal and Protect Detailing on the Isle of Sheppey, trading for around six years. None of the businesses in this directory currently carry an independently verifiable rating: several claim strong reviews on sites that could not be checked against a working link, so no rating is shown for any of them here rather than repeating an unconfirmed figure. A number of listings, particularly across Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey, rest on a single directory entry rather than the business's own website - ring first to check the business is still trading and current before assuming the listing is accurate. Two names are worth asking about directly: A B Vehicle Valeting in Broadstairs, whose mobile number has also appeared under the trading name Keith's Mobile Car Valet Service, and Paul's Mobile Car Valeting, which has two different addresses on record for the same phone number, in Sittingbourne and in nearby Bapchild. Either way, confirm the vehicle size, the exact work included and the total price before the valeter arrives, since almost none of these businesses publish a fixed menu.
