How to choose a car detailer or valeter in Swansea

This directory covers eight areas across Swansea and the towns just beyond it: Swansea centre & Sandfields, Sketty & Uplands, Mumbles & Gower, Gorseinon & Pontarddulais, Morriston & Llansamlet, Neath, Port Talbot and Llanelli. Coverage is uneven. Sketty & Uplands and Mumbles & Gower each have exactly one confirmed business, Uplands Carwash & Valeting and Trust 2 Clean respectively, and Neath also has just one, Pristine Mobile Valeting Services, once businesses without a confirmed phone number are left out. Choice is genuinely narrower in those three areas than in Gorseinon & Pontarddulais or Morriston & Llansamlet, which each have six or seven. Several mobile businesses based elsewhere in the town may still reach you in a thinner area, so it's worth asking when you call whether a mobile valeter based a few miles away covers your postcode.

What the credentials on record actually mean

Very few businesses here publish trade certifications, so the ones that do are worth noting. Hawke Details Ltd names FEYNLAB ceramic coatings and XPEL paint protection film specifically, and says it's the only accredited FEYNLAB installer in Wales. Autoshine Car Care, in Llanelli, describes itself as specialising in paint correction and machine polishing rather than a general valet, and is corroborated under a near-identical name on Facebook using the same phone number. Preserve Auto Detailing has been trading since 2018 and displays a strong review score on its own site, but since that score isn't linked to a Google, Trustpilot, Fresha, Booksy or Yelp page we can check, no rating is shown for it here; the same is true for every other business in this town.

A note on names and addresses

A handful of listings here need a little care. Cleaner Cars UK trades under two branches at two different Gorseinon & Pontarddulais addresses, one of them confusingly named the "Llanelli Branch" despite being based well outside Llanelli. First Choice Valeting appeared under two near-identical names at the same Port Talbot address and is recorded once here rather than twice. Uplands Carwash & Valeting's small unit in Uplands also turns up under two other trading names in different sources, most likely a rebrand rather than three separate businesses. None of this means anything is wrong with the business, only that it's worth confirming the current name and what's on offer when you call.
